Summer Home Flare

When you are getting ready to pay a visit to your summer home or cottage, you may want to think about bringing along a few items that you can use to beautify your space. Because this second living area is perhaps one that you do not visit as often as you would like to, you may find that the decor really needs a little bit of a face lift. When you decide that you want to make a few changes, you will be pleasantly surprised at just how easy such a transition can be.

Make a mental note of some of the areas within your summer home that may need to be updated. Perhaps you have bedding that really needs to be switched out to a fresh and new style or you may even find that a couple of great new area rugs may just do the trick in your entryway or hallway spaces. Be sure that if you are going to be making some drastic changes such as living room furniture or even your dining table that you take measurements to make sure that any new piece is going to fit. After all, if this is a place that you only visit a couple of times a year, you may not have the best memory when it comes to the dimension of certain rooms.

After you have made some decisions on changes that you would like to make, you may find that you want to change the lighting in an area or two as well. The Star Lamp is a great addition to any area of your summer home or cottage, be it the bedroom or family room. Go ahead and have fun with the sprucing up of your summer retreat!

Birthday Garden Party

When you are looking to throw a garden party for one of your dearest and most precious friends for their birthday, you are going to want to do everything within your power to make sure that it is perfect. This will mean having everything in order from the invitations right down to the icing on the cake. However, you may want to look around your garden area a bit to see if you have anything that needs to be tended to. As a matter of fact, this could be the perfect time to make a few changes to some of the furniture that you may have or maybe even just introduce a few new pieces making your garden simply wonderful and more than ready for guests.

Do not be afraid to add a few new garden elements, including new plants or maybe even a few flowering shrubs if you feel like getting your hands dirty. Think about where your garden party guests will be walking and you may want to put up a few markers or fences so that some of your plants do not get stepped on at all. In addition to your decorations, a fun and beautiful garden accent that can be added here and there is the Garden Angel. Having more than one of these beautiful pieces set around the perimeter can add a lovely charm to your party.

Whatever you decide to do, your friend is sure to love all of the effort that you have put into the celebration of his or her birthday. Now all you have to do is sit back and toast to the guest of honor as you quietly sit and pat yourself on the back for a job well done on your garden facelift.
