Add Romance With Candles
You put the kids to bed early. The lights are turned down low and you made a dinner for just the two of you. To further set the mood for a romantic evening, use candles. The low-light glow of a candle makes everything seem just a little more relaxing, cozy, and romantic. There are as many ways to use candles in your décor, as there are types of candles. Accent Architecturals has a huge selection of ways to make the mood lighting in your rooms a little more romantic. Check out their large selection of candle holders.
For a large and stunning statement to your décor, you can't go wrong with the Candle Chandelier with Pots. This is a nice hanging display. For a more subdued addition to your room, try the Cast Iron Candle Holders. These are great for those times when you have one little area that just needs something to finish it off and you don't have a lot of space to play with. Placed around a darkened room, your room will take on something from a Harlequin Romance novel.
If you want to keep your candles small and low-key in your décor scheme, the Petite Candle Holder will be the answer to your wishes. They only measure in at 5-inches by 7-inches and will make a great addition to your romantic room design. If you'd like to move your romantic interlude out on the patio, the Guardian Angel Candle Holders will light the way to a cuddly night for the two of you. For all your planning for a romantic evening, make sure your lighting reflects the mood of the evening - use candles!

Add French Country Elements to Your Decor
When you're thinking design styles, trying to get the decorating elements straight can seem a huge task. Break it down and it's easy.
Take French Country for example. This widely used style is an easy one to implement using items from Accent Architecturals. One decorating key for achieving the French Country look is in the word most widely used to describe this style: rustic. Shorten that to "rust" and you have a widely used element in this decorating scheme. Think French farmland, think implements of farming. Rusted metal and distressed wood items lend an old world "used" charm that brings a sense of coziness to your room. Simple white tables such as the French Country Table with it's simple top and scrollwork on the sides is a quiet addition that will lend a cozy elegance to your French Country room.
Some of the colors used in French Country are bright red and burnt rusty reds, sunshine yellows and lavenders. Along with grassy greens and blues in sky tones. A functional piece that will chime right in with your French Country decor scheme is a French Country Clock. With it's rustic tones it will blend seamlessly with your design.
The creative use of mirrors can expand a small space. The French Farmhouse Mirror with his muted tones is a great way to quietly make your room seem bigger with a mirror placed strategically on each wall around the room.
Another great addition is the French Post Card Transfers that are in old black antique-look frames. With the soft elegant colors used in most of French Country decor, adding in small elements in bold blacks or gray tones will help to set off your other colors.
If you're looking to update a room in your home, change your decor to French Country and watch your room turn into a cozy nook you'll want to spend a lot of time in.

Don't Forget Your Fireplace
The harsh winds of winter are now behind us and your fireplace may not be the center of attention for the next two seasons. Even during the spring and summer, a fireplace can lend a huge amount of warmth to a room.
The mantle around your fireplace can make or break your room. Is your dingy and worn looking? Don't fret about it-just replace it. You can choose either a 3-sided mantle that will go across your fireplace and down each side to the floor or just a short mantle that will go across the top of your fireplace. A Distressed Black Mantle will make a truly striking statement in your room décor and will go with just about any decorating scheme you have. Whether it is French Country, Minimal Eames or a Modern décor.
And your mantle doesn't have to be the star around your fireplace. Your fireplace screen doesn't have to be boring, black old metal. You can get a myriad of styles to choose from such as the Canterbury Fire Screen with its bold coloring will be a great statement in any room. If you want something a little more rustic looking, the Medallion Fire Screen with its metal body and scrollwork sides will be a nice way to keep the plain old fireplace screen hidden away.
If you like something a little more elaborate in your room, the Fleur De Lis Fireplace Screen is a great choice. It is made from cut metal and four panels wide will completely cover most fireplace areas.
If you're looking to update your living area around your fireplace, you will find you have a large number of choices to get the look that you're looking for.

Make a Cozy Guest Room
It never fails, the minute you think about changing your guest room around, as if to confirm the room isn't all that comfortable, you have guests!
If you want to have a guest room that will make your guests feel comfortable, cozy and welcomed, there are a few design elements you can use to create that effect.
Go for softer colors. No matter what your style preference whether it is Shabby Chic to classic French Country, stick to soft colors in the range for the style you have chosen and your room will immediately develop a relaxing feel to it.
Next, you are creating a soft, cozy feel to the room. Go easy on the impact pieces. You want your guests to be relaxed in this room. Go for the soft lighting, mood lighting. Candles placed strategically around a room or even better; a wrought iron candle chandelier is a great choice for a classic low lighting style. All lend a relaxing feel to the room you use them in.
For the bed and bedding, one of the wrought iron pieces from Accent Architecturals adds flair to the room and add in some super soft bedding and your guests will think they were sleeping on a cloud.
Keep your wall decorations low-key and go for the pieces with soft edges and soft corners and you will have a fully functional guest room. One word of warning though, your guests will be so happy and comfortable in your décor, they may not want to leave!
