A Most Unusual Desk
Accent Architecturals is offering a desk unlike any other you may have seen in recent years. If you have an appreciation for antiques and the mechanics of yesteryear, we'd like to present our Instrument Base Desk.
This unusual desk has been modeled on the old fashioned optometrist's table from the last century. The desk has an antique finished wooden table top that rests on two sets of cast iron legs. Each set of legs on this desk has a hand crank that allows you to raise or lower the height for optimum comfort and utility. The desk top is a generous 60 inches wide by 28 inches deep, giving you plenty of table top space for anything you may need.
This visual impact of this desk is quite stunning. The moment you lay eyes on it, you're immediately drawn to the under-table mechanics. While this desk would be wonderful to use in a home setting, just imagine the impact it could have in the office. An architect would appreciate the way form meets function, and potential clients could be drawn into conversation about the desk right at the start. A terrific ice breaker to make them feel more comfortable and more likely to do business.
Take a moment to think about just how attractive all that modern, sterile gray office furniture really is. Now picture this Instrument Base Desk in your home or office and think about how much character it would add. The Instrument Base Desk truly is a most unusual desk, and is sure to bring enjoyment to the most unusual person who gives it a home.

Brackets Basics
Brackets are one of those rare items that perfectly combine form and function. The beautiful design of brackets makes them almost a piece of artwork, yet they are study enough to hold considerable weight and look good doing it.
Consider some of Accent Architecturals' favorite brackets made from scrolled wrought iron. Our Vineyard Iron Shelf Brackets carry a design of winding grapevines and clusters of fruit. Our Small Bird Iron Shelf Brackets have a gnarled tree branch design that holds a small bird ready to take flight.
Either of these brackets could be used for multiple purposes. You can use them to hold up a book shelf, or as reinforcement for a porch overhang. These brackets also make attractive hooks for hanging baskets because of their strong, yet open design.
Then, there are other brackets made from resin, stone or wood. These brackets are also quite strong but serve a different function. Our Medium Regency Brackets look like ornate plaster work, and because they have a hole through the middle, they are best used as holders for drapery poles. You could even pull fabric directly through the poles and drape it loosely for a less formal window treatment.
Bordeaux Brackets offer yet other uses. These beautifully carved brackets are visually stunning, and the larger top base serves as a small shelf. Use these brackets to hold family photos, flower vases, candles or anything else you can thinks of.
Now that you know just how many things you can use brackets for, why not take a look around your own home and see how you might use them to enhance your own interior design.

Bird Baths Bring Nature To You
Bird Baths Bring Nature To You
One or more bird baths added to your garden landscape can turn your backyard into a nature sanctuary. Think of the many pleasant spring mornings and summer afternoons you can spend watching all the visitors come share a little refreshment right in your own garden.
Bird watchers already know bird baths are essential for drawing the local feathered friends in for closer viewing. Bird baths offer them a place to cool down, and catch a drink before they take flight once again.
However, bird baths can be used to attract more than just birds. Many of nature's most unusual and beautiful insects such as butterflies and dragonflies are drawn to the water and make for some spectacular viewing.
Accent Architecturals offers truly classical bird baths in wrought iron and aluminum. Our Roman Bird Baths feature a basin entwined with iron vines and love birds which rests on a Roman style column and base. Any of our Scroll Bird Baths would provide an elegant back drop for all your winged friends. Simple basins rest on ornate scrolled iron bases, lending your garden a little European flair.
Bird baths are beautiful as well as useful, but do need to be maintained. Empty your bird bath basin daily, wipe away any accumulated algae, and fill with fresh cool water. This will help keep mosquitos from laying eggs in the stagnant water, and prevent bacterial build up.
A little care for your bird baths will bring many returns from the bounty of nature.

Angels Abound
Angels Abound
Angels are everywhere when you're looking through the eyes of architectural salvage artist Jane Taylor. Jane can pick out a few articles of seemingly useless materials and turn them into something quite heavenly. Her angels are meant to inspire and delight the beholder, and each of her angels are unique. Just take a look at her current offering of angels for your home or garden.
Jane's Angel Baby is a perfect example of her angels work. A portion of a tin medallion for wings, a rosette for a body and a small finial for a head, and you have architectural angels to add character to your home or garden.
Another of Jane's original pieces called Angel Love is similar, but adds two more finials for arms, as though she' holding them out to you. Both of these angels bring a certain sense of unexpected whimsy and rustic charm to any space they're displayed.
Jane's Bella Angel is perhaps her angels masterpiece. A simple wooden stair post becomes a slender curved body, while scrolled wrought iron is turned into beautiful angel wings. An ornately carved round finial serves as a head with a section of copper tubing for a halo. This is one of the most unique angels we have ever seen.
Perhaps your own home is in need of a little heavenly inspiration? Why not add a few of Jane's fantastical angels to your decor? Who knows what good tidings these heavenly messengers will bring to you. Let angels abound.
