Kitchen Island; A Functional Oasis
Kitchen Island; A Functional Oasis
Have a little too much floor space and not enough counter top in your kitchen? Add a kitchen island. A kitchen island can be an ideal way to increase your work area without going to the greater expense of a full remodeling. You can add 6-8 feet of useable counter space simply by adding one kitchen island. Place a kitchen island in the middle of your floor plan or butt one up against a bare wall, and see how much more functional your space becomes.
Our standard kitchen island is available with either a galvanized tin table top or a traditional butcher block top. This kitchen island is full of convenient storage space with towel bars on both ends, a cubby hole for your cutting board, and a full shelf underneath capable of holding larger appliances like heavy duty mixers that you may not use everyday. This kitchen island is available in dozens of finishes that will help make it look like it was designed especially for your home.
If your kitchen is a little on the dull side, why not choose a kitchen island with plenty of character to spice it up? Our Burwell Kitchen Island is a very unique piece. The table top is made of wood from reclaimed pickle barrels from Krakow, Wisconsin, and the drawer pulls actually come from St. Mary's Catholic Elementary School in Chicago. This kitchen island is a perfect example of functional salvage art.
When you need a little something extra from your kitchen, try adding a kitchen island for a work space oasis.

Create Ambiance With Candle Scapes
Create Ambiance With Candle Scapes
Candle Scapes can help you create a mood in any room you choose. By simply selecting your own fire proof containers, a Candle Scapes kit, and a bottle of Candle Scents Fragrance oil, you have the makings of your own aromatherapy center.
Would you like to recreate the feeling of a woodland glade. We'll show you how. You'll need a Candle Scapes kit in Evergreen, and a bottle of evergreen candle scent. Now select two containers, one slightly larger than the other. Terra cotta saucers make terrific Candle Scapes containers and the earth tone fits our woodland theme perfectly.
Set the smaller saucer in the middle of the larger one, and fill the small saucer with the wax beads in your Candle Scapes kit. Push one of the wicks included with your Candle Scapes kit into the center of the beads. Now pour a little Evergreen candle scent close to the wick area.
To the larger saucer add a layer of river stones in assorted sizes and colors. Then add a few small pine cones and a few spruce sprigs here and there, and suddenly, you have a Candle Scapes aromatherapy center that not only smells like a forest, it looks terrifically earthy too.
As you can see, Candle Scapes kits couldn't be easier to use, and you can have a great time using your imagination to create many other Candle Scapes centerpieces for every room in your home if you like.
Candle Scapes simply make adding those finishing touches fun.

Charming Bird Feeders
Charming Bird Feeders
If you're a bird lover, there's no better way to draw feathered friends to your backyard than by adding bird feeders to your landscape. Bird feeders come in all shapes and sizes, some whimsical, others more utilitarian, but all capable of putting on a nature display at your own back door.
Our Nantucket bird feeders are a charming example of how different bird feeders can be from the plain construction of yesterday's styles. These bird feeders are built to look like a typical Nantucket lighthouse. Painted blue and white with a gay blue stripe winding down the main body, these whimsical hanging bird feeders are sure to provide you with hours of amusement watching all sorts of birds come to feast.
Our Dove Deli bird feeders are quite different from our Nantucket bird feeders, but are still very attractive. A single white column holds plenty of seed and perches to host many birds at once. There are plenty or ornate wood carvings on these bird feeders that lend them a sort of Victorian charm.
If you like a little drama, why not try one of our Portico Hanging bird feeders? These large bird feeders have eight perches and a very elegant design, with scalloped shingles for roofing.
Why not add a little extra charm to your backyard habitat with bird feeders?

Store It Beautifully With Armoires
Store It Beautifully With Armoires
Armoires are such a classic piece of furniture with so much to offer. The wide array of styles and designs tend to make armoires the show piece of any room that has one. However beautiful they may be, the main attraction of armoires has always been the storage space they provide.
Traditionally armoires were always used in the bedroom to hold clothing and other accessories, adding extra storage space to relieve over filled closets. Accent Architecturals' Gentlemen's Armoire is a wonderful example of the traditional use. This armoire has a full length mirror on the cabinet door, five pull out doors on the bottom, and two adjustable upper shelves hidden behind another door.
But bedrooms aren't the only place armoires are used today. Armoires have been moved right into the main living space to perform a number of functions. Many modern armoires are used to house TV's and the accompanying cable boxes, VCR/DVD's and game consoles that can look so unattractive and cluttered on a traditional entertainment center. Armoires are also being used as an attractive way to keep personal computers close at hand but out of sight when you want to entertain guests.
Our Lattice Armoires and Gantry Armoires are two very different designs, but both great examples of armoires used for entertainment centers instead. Each of these armoires has a large shelf to hold your television, with plenty of other shelving to hold other electronic components, DVD's, CD's, etc.
Just think of all the uses you may have for stylish armoires in your own home.
