Statues

Statues

Since the glory days of Greece and Rome, and even further back, statues have been used to add grace and beauty to homes and gardens. There's just something irresistible about them. We're drawn toward statues like moths to a flame, and the size doesn't seem to matter.

If you have country decor in your home, a pair of Cast Iron Chick statues would make a wonderful decorative addition. These chick statues are just 4 inches high, about the same size as the real thing. A set of these statues would make a charming little accent when placed on the hearth in front of the fireplace or perhaps on the mantle above.

On the other end of the spectrum, how about Summer Statues for your garden? A four foot tall cherub figure celebrates the summer harvest while feasting on bunches of grapes. Very Romanesque in style, these charming cast stone statues are a terrific way to create a focal point in your garden landscape.

Angel statues are very desirable collectibles. Accent Architecturals offers the Garden Angel. These terra cotta statues are aged with a mossy green patina, so they look like they've been a fixture in the garden for years. Place these statues on garden walls or nestle them down between the flowers for charming garden accents.

Statues in all shapes and sizes have captivated our imaginations for centuries. From figurines and collectables to full size pieces of art, statues have stood the test of time, and are as popular as ever today.

Here at Accent Architecturals, we have a wonderful collection of traditional and eclectic room screens, as well as some constructed with those salvaged items we so dearly love. Just take a look at a small smattering of what we have to offer.

The solid nature of these room screens make them terrific to use as dressing rooms in a bedroom setting.

Our Palladium Room Screens have an open and airy nature, and are a wonderful way to create divisions in a garden or patio landscape. The wrought iron design of these room screens would look especially lovely covered in trailing ivy.

Fontaine Room Screens are simply dark and elegant. Again, hammered tin is the material of choice for these room screens. Imagine using these to delineate spaces in an open loft apartment. The effect would be both functional and dramatic.

The Humble Birdhouse

The Humble Birdhouse

Let's take a moment to consider the humble birdhouse. Traditionally the birdhouse was a simple structure often cobbled together from old boards and a piece of leftover shingle for a roof, and left to hang in a tree weathering year after year. After the first year, no one paid it much attention.

Here at Accent Architecturals, we don't believe a birdhouse needs to be so humble. In fact, we think a birdhouse ought to be a fabulous addition to your backyard landscape, and so we've assembled a wonderful and whimsical birdhouse collection for you to peruse.

Anything but humble, we'd like to present the Mansard Manor Birdhouse. A small replica of a new England style sea captain's house, this bright blue and white birdhouse would be an eye catching addition to the back yard that no would forget about. Fully sashed windows and a front porch give birds plenty of foot holds for landing. This beautiful birdhouse is constructed from kiln-dried wood for durability, and if you ever get tired of the color scheme, just give a fresh new look with your own paint job.

Have a yen to attract a wren? Then our Wren Inn Birdhouse is just the ticket to draw small, cavity dwelling birds to your backyard. This quaint little yellow bird abode has bright white shutters and a flower box beneath the window filled with silk flowers. Finches, Chickadees, Titmice and Nuthatches will all be attracted to such a wonderful little birdhouse as this.

Think about adding a brilliant birdhouse to your own backyard, you'll be surprised to find how much you'll love it.

Candle Beads - Quick Centerpiece Solutions

Candle Beads - Quick Centerpiece Solutions

Candle Beads make candle making quick, convenient and safe for all ages. That's because you never have to work with hot melted wax. Candle Beads are tiny beads of wax no bigger than the head of a pin. To create a candle, simply pour the Candle Beads into any fire safe container, push in a wick, and there you have your own custom made candle.

Candle Beads are available in over 16 colors, and wicks are included with every set. The real fun is seeing just how many different designs you can think of.

Want an idea for an elegant wedding table centerpiece? Go to your local glass outlet and purchase 5 inexpensive wine glasses. For a circular table, arrange the glasses in a ring, pour Candle Beads in your selected colors to just beneath the glass rims, and add a wick to each glass.

For further embellishment, try loosely arranging some coordinating craft store glass marbles and silk petals on the table around the bottom of the stems. The result is a simple yet very elegant centerpiece that only took minutes to make thanks to Candle Beads.

All you need do is multiply the glasses needed by the number of tables, and you can make a Candle Bead centerpiece for every table at the reception. For a rectangular table, run the glasses in a straight line in the center to compliment the shape.

Creative ways to use Candle Beads are virtually endless. Keep watching in the weeks to come for more Candle Beads projects here at Accent Architecturals.
