Windows With A Different View
Windows add light and air to your home. They give us a view of the world around us. Windows are what separates us from the Neanderthals who lived in caves.
But have you ever thought about using windows in a different way? Here at Accent Architecturals, we have a healthy fondness for salvage art. Salvage art involves using old, discarded building materials in new and unusual ways, something the framings of old windows lend themselves to quite readily.
Think of windows as artwork, and they begin to give us a completely different view. Case in point, our French Scrolled Art Windows. These windows are divided into the traditional 6 pane style, and each glass rectangle holds a piece of elegantly decorated glass, much like the pieces of a puzzle.
While you can hang these decorative windows against a light colored background for beautiful effect, they are even more impressive when hung in front of the upper half of your own single pane windows. You have an instant etched glass effect that would cost you over a thousand dollars to custom order.
Our
Botanical 6 Pane Art Windows would be a lovely accent to any enclosed patio or Florida room, echoing the nature found just outside.
Birds & Vines 4 Pane Art Windows add a special touch of charm to kitchen windows, helping to create a cozy atmosphere.
Windows can be more than mere panes of glass, they can bring a sense of beauty and whimsy, along with a totally different view of the world.

Wall Shelves, Wall Art
During the 1970's, interior design went somewhat spartan, losing much of it's interest and character, and wall shelves became nothing more than 8x1 inch boards attached to a wall with brackets. Painted or stained and varnished, these plain Jane wall shelves did little to add architectural interest to a room. They were simply utilitarian structures to house books or other household items.
Unfortunately many homes still contain these dinosaurs of design, simply for the fact that they are so functional. But here in the new millennium, isn't it time for a change? Why not breathe new life into your room decor by removing those old wooden boards, and adding new wall shelves that increase the beauty and value of any room.
Here at Accent Architecturals, we have a wonderful collection of wall shelves in a wide array of design styles and material construction. From the incredibly ornate to the deceptively simple, we have wall shelves to fit the flavor of every design style you can imagine.
Install our Wreath Wall Shelves above your window frames and set a pot of delicate asparagus ferns on top to bring the outdoors inside with trailing greenery. You can even use silk foliage for more convenience.
A Wreath Mantle Wall Shelf added above your fireplace mantle creates a two tier display for family photos and heirlooms.
Even a clever arrangement of our simplistic Rosette Wall Shelves can add lots of architectural interest to a room.
Wall shelves should be functional, but there's no reason why they can't be attractive on their own as well. Try adding decorative wall shelves to your room to kick your design scheme up a notch.

Wonderful Wall Mirrors
What can you say about wall mirrors? They are simply wonderful, versatile pieces that can fulfill any number of functions within a design plan. From the bathroom, to the boudoir, to the parlor, wall mirrors add open, airy charm to your decor.
At their most simple, wall mirrors provide a place to take a look at ourselves. You can use them in bedrooms, baths, and even entry ways to make one last check before you head out to meet the world each day.
Wall mirrors can also perform a double function as wall art. It's all in the framing, which accents the glass and determines the style of the mirror. You can arrange several small wall mirrors in an attractive grouping on the wall to create the impression of a larger piece. Then again you can go for the gusto and use large wall mirrors as dramatic focal pieces in a room.
Wall mirrors are also a terrific way to add the illusion of space to smaller rooms. Use wall mirrors in rooms that feel stifled, and you'll be amazed at how they automatically open up.
You can even use wall mirrors to create the illusion of another room to your home by using unframed sections as a border at the top of your wall. Run a shelf just underneath these mirrors and some plants along the length, and everyone will be asking what's in the next room.
Whether you like the look of our
Antique Ceiling Tile Wall Mirrors, or our modern, yet slightly quirky Assorted Circle Wall Mirrors, your creative use of wall mirrors is bound to give a special feel to your home.

Rooms, Romance And Rosettes
Nothing adds a feeling of romance to your room quicker than rosettes. These lovely pieces of architectural art have been used as decoration for hundreds of years in the homes of the well-to-do, and churches as well.
Each of
our rosettes begin with a center design from which the rest of the ornamentation radiates outward like the spokes of a wheel. Many rosettes employ the traditional flower petal design that gives them their name, but circle patterns and even shell motifs can be used to create unique wall rosettes.
Rosettes look as lovely on a wall as any other work of art. When painted the same color as a wall, they resemble custom plaster. Our Roman Rosette Grille would be a perfect example for this use of rosettes.
But don't limit your imagination strictly to the indoors. Think about the ways you could use rosettes in your garden landscape. Classic Shell Rosettes, made of beautiful sandstone, could be inset into textured concrete walls for a truly lovely effect, perhaps as a backdrop for a wall fountain. Mimosa Rosettes could be incorporated into a garden path as lovely stepping stones set into the earth.
You can even create a porthole between rooms by using two Gothic Rosettes back to back and set into a wall cut out.
However you decide to use rosettes in your home architecture, you're sure to infuse your space with a sense of romance. Take some time to browse through our collection of rosettes and we're sure you'll find something to inspire you.

Friezes Add Architectural Character
Friezes can fill those empty spaces on your walls that just seem to be crying out for a little ornamentation. These decorative pieces of wall decor come in many shapes and styles to enhance your room design.
Friezes have been typically used as decoration over doorways, but you know that here at Accent Architecturals, we always like to look at traditional items in innovative ways.
Think about adding friezes as a back splash like addition over your fireplace mantel. Our Boulay Over Door Moulding friezes come in 46"W x 11"H sections, with an ornately carved flowering vine pattern that would add character and charm to even the plainest mantel. These friezes are available in dozens of finishes, to match or provide contrast to your color scheme.
Pressed Tin Friezes could be used as interesting base board material. Instead of the usual plain wooden base board, picture bronzed tin hammered with intricate designs. Just run a piece of 1 inch moulding along the bottom and you have a design element that is not only attractive, but also adds value to our home. Our tin friezes come in sections that are 48 inches long, and range from 12-28 inches high. These friezes could just as easily become wonderful wall boarders.
And of course, friezes can turn an ordinary doorway into some extraordinary. Our Shell Over Door friezes almost look like craftsman plaster art. When you add these friezes over doorways, they extend the visual height of the entryway, so it appears more dramatic in height. Use these friezes indoors or out to add architectural charm to your home.
Friezes are simply a very easy way to achieve the look of fine craftsmanship found in many historic homes.
