A Back Splash That Makes A Difference

Looking for back splash with a little pizzazz? Why not consider a pressed tin back splash for your kitchen? They're gorgeous, unusual, and completely functional.

Ceramic tile is terrific, but it's been done to death. A pressed tin back splash is a relatively fresh concept in kitchen design, and it lends a certain old world charm to your decor even though it looks terrific with the most contemporary designs.

A pressed tin back splash from Accents Architectural is easy to care for and easy to install as well. Just butter the backs of these attractive back splash tiles with some liquid nails and press them into place. You can even custom trim them with a pair of tin snips.

A pressed tin back splash from Accents Architectural is also made to last. Every tile is coated with several layers of lacquer to protect the tin from rust. Just wipe them clean with a damp cloth and towel dry, and they'll look good as new.

Not only do our back splash tiles look great with nearly any design style, they come in a finish to match any color scheme. You can select from over 43 different colors and finishes.

Architectural elements add interest and value to your home, and a pressed tin back splash is a unique way to add character to kitchen counters and bar areas. Why not consider adding a lovely back splash made of pressed tin to enhance your own decor?

Ceiling Tin Treasures

Salvaging ceiling tin tiles and giving them a second life is a major industry here at Accents Architectural. At one time ceiling tin tiles were considered a great alternative to ornate plastering jobs, and ceiling tin was plentiful. Today it is a vanishing art, one that we want to preserve.

Our ceiling tin comes in many designs and finishes to match most decors. Each ceiling tin has been painstakingly hammered, and is a piece of art all on it's own. Our ceiling tin may be used to create your own custom designed ceilings, but that's not the only thing you can do with them.

Ceiling tin is very versatile, and once your creative juices start flowing, the possibilities are endless. You can hang just one, or a strategically arranged set of ceiling tins on your wall as decoration. Ceiling tins also make terrific table top covers for small side tables. You can attach them to the insert panels on doors to make a relatively inexpensive door look like a million bucks. Here at Accents Architectural we even convert them into gorgeous fireplace screens.

Here are two lovely examples of the type of ceiling tin we have available. Our Rhienbeck, NY 1916 Antique Tin is actually two ceiling tin panels artfully combined as one. Different tints, waxes and varnishes are used to create the beautiful finish on each tile.

Our Camden, ME 1924 Antique Tin is a single panel that has been hammered in a very intricate design. Each tin has been wrapped over a plywood insert for added durability.

Ceiling tin is a most unusual way to take your home decor beyond the ordinary.

Benches Set The Tone In Your Garden

Benches provide great hardscape accents for any garden, and the style you choose really helps set the overall tone of your garden.

Looking to create a formal English garden setting? Our Cherub Benches are just the thing. Made from lightweight stone, these lovely benches have a full back adorned with reclining cherubs on either sign. These garden benches are available in natural or moss finish.

Would you like your garden to express a more down home feeling? Our Personal Gazebo benches fill your garden with a slice of Americana. Our Personal Gazebo with Rounded Top has very clean lines and wooden slat back construction. The gently curving overhang on these benches provides extra charm. Our Personal Gazebo with Pointed Top conveys a similar feeling with a slightly different design. Both Gazebo benches are available in numerous finishes.

Perhaps a garden with a romantic sense of whimsy is more your style? In that case, take a look at our iron and wood benches. These lovely garden accent benches put wrought iron designs to very good use. Our Victorian Rose Garden Benches have large oval backs with a vining rose design. But our Scroll Leaf Garden Benches are the real show stoppers. These garden benches have a simple scroll leaf design, but the backs are very large, making them a focal point in any garden setting.

Accents Architectural has many more benches for you to choose from as you search for the perfect piece to set the character of your garden.

Jane Taylor Makes The Pieces Fit

Give Jane Taylor some old peeling bead boards, a few assorted pieces of discarded tools or kitchen wear, and she'll give you a wonderful, whimsical bird house. That's because Jane Taylor is a salvage artist, and recycling other people's throw-aways is her passion.

Jane Taylor has the unique ability to look at ordinary objects in unordinary ways, allowing her to breathe new life into her salvaged creations. If you can weld it, hammer it, or glue it, Jane can turn it into a one-of-a-kind piece of practical art.

And that is the heart of Jane Taylor and her work; practicality. No matter how whimsical the piece, it is made to be used, not just admired. Her benches may be made from bed headboards and frying pans, but they're meant to be sat in and enjoyed. Her collection of bird houses bring joy to their collectors surely, but the birds that live in them have no idea their home is someone else's art.

The Tea Time Birdello from Jane Taylor is a perfect example of her quirky, yet bemusing style. An antique tea pot sits atop a bird house constructed from salvaged planks and molding. Flag pole holders and iron coat hooks make impromptu perches, and the whole design is slightly shabby, yet completely charming.

Angels are another passion for Jane Taylor. Her Bella Angel is created from an odd assortment of salvaged items yet is unmistakably an angel from the moment you set eyes on it. An old staircase spindle receives sections of wrought iron for wings, a finial top for a head and cooper tubing for a halo.

If you can appreciate the creativity it takes to carve art out of piles of discarded wood and scrap metal, you will love the extraordinary work of Jane Taylor.

Vanities Add Charcter And Value To Your Home

Vanities have the potential to add style, grace and value to your living space. Did you know that bathroom decor is one of the biggest selling points for any home? It's true. Realtors claim that most homes are sold on the strength of their kitchen and bathroom designs, and without some style, a home may sit on the market for months longer than necessary. So it only makes sense to invest in quality fixtures for these rooms, and vanities are a major focal point.

There was a time in the not too distant past when vanities were only available in the standard white porcelain sink, and a tasteless laminated cabinet. Now vanities come in an assortment of styles and finishes, so you can select one that fits the character of your home.

Case in point, Accents Architectural's Single Bowl Vanity Base with Towel Holders. Not one of your typical vanities, this piece is constructed from wood carved with clean, simple accents. There is space for a drop in bowl sink, and dowel towel rods at either end. The choice of colors and finishes is nearly endless, allowing you to truly customize these vanities to your personal decor.

Tin is a specialty here at Accents Architectural, and our Console Base with Tin Top vanities is always in demand. These vanities have space for two sinks, and your choice in bowls and fixtures will finish the customized look of the room. The tin on these vanities has been coated with several layers of lacquer to seal and protect it from the moisture.

Vanities are not just sink bases, they are an investment into the value of your home, so it makes sense to put great care into your selection.
