Using Architectural Pedestals To Enhance Your Design

Using architectural pedestals to enhance your room is a tried and true decorating method of adding style and functionality. Pedestals have been used for centuries to add both structure and decoration to homes from all times, both past and present.

If you're thinking of adding architectural pedestals to your room design, there are a number of great choices out there.

Blackwash pedestals are designed to hold your favorite statues, plants, lights and other favorite items that add to your decor. They are lightweight, elegantly styled to remain in the background while making your item the centerpiece of the display. They are made from sturdy wood and will add years of useful service to your room.

There are a number of taller pedestals that will highlight any item you place on them. They come in a myriad of fantastic finishes to match any decor and are a sturdy edition to any room.

For functionality, a smartly designed pedestal table will add a real bang to your decor as it not only looks sharp with its pedestal leg form, it has an illusion base that starts out as a 60" round with two pedestals back to back so they appear as one four leg base, You can expand the table using 2-12" leaves to extend to a 60" x 84" oval. As the bases move apart, the pedestals opens into two separate supporting bases.

Additionally, pedestals look just grand in a garden with a plant or a decorative urn on top. They will add a sense of elegance to any landscape design.

For functionality and design, adding pedestals to your room or garden will help create a theme of cozy elegance and comfort that will grace your room for years to come.

The Power Of Impact Pieces In Your Decorating

Impact pieces are an extreme way to decorate. They are powerful pieces alone, imagine what they can do in and around your home.

If you are looking for something that will grab your attention and the attention of anyone who enters your home, then an Impact Piece is just what you should be looking for. Impact pieces tend to be large and often very dramatic and can be placed anywhere in the home to receive the "WOW's" you're looking for.

Impact pieces can be used traditionally as an art piece or even something completely different. For instance, the Garden Gate Wall Plaque is definitely a beautiful Impact Piece to be used in your entryway. It's made of gorgeous iron with a "weathered" iron finish. But what if you put it in your bedroom to be used as a decorative headboard? Or hang it from the ceiling as a sort of "floating" Impact Piece? I bet no one would be expecting that one!

If you have a room to decorate with no windows, how about trying two of the Scroll Leaf Wall Panels on either side of one wall to simulate windows. One impact piece would be beautiful, but two of the same would do even more. This way they are symmetrical and completely striking as a pair.

The Oxford Sanctuary cast resin would be a fabulous impact piece! Imagine it in the center of your wall with flanking candle sconces! The flickering light would definitely show off it's cord wood finish and would just be an eye-catching piece of art.

With impact pieces you need to be in the mindset of thinking 'outside the frame'. Not all art has to come in a frame. Impact pieces are perfect for those of us who want something more. Something with a little oomph. Or a lot of oomph!

If you're going to buy an art piece, it should at least be a piece that you genuinely like. So why not go big and bold with an Impact Piece? You're going to walk past it hundreds of times, so you might as well buy something that you feel good about.

Uncover the Beauty Of Friezes

Friezes are architectural ornaments/decorations that are narrow pieces of hanging sculpture that fit perfectly over doors and fireplaces and especially along interior walls as an accent to any piece of furniture that you may have or simply by itself. Friezes can even be used to enhance your garden area amongst the flowers and fountains.

All Friezes are delicately patterned and designed anywhere from simple swirled moulding to ornate borders. Many Friezes can feature lovely leaves spiraling around each other, fruits, angels and cherubs. There are even some Friezes that feature carved urns and flowers.

There are many different patterns to Frieze ornaments, which makes many beautiful depictions and designs to choose from! For instance, the Ansley Over Door Frieze Set would be perfect to put in the entryway from one room to another. It would look especially beautiful if your room is already decorated in a similar fashion that would enhance your choice of the Frieze. It just seems to invite you in.

For a different feel, the Right Frieze would look great in a section of your home with many plants. Maybe even a sun room. I think the fact that this Frieze looks unfinished, even broken adds to its charm. It looks as if this piece was found in some ancient time and has just been uncovered in your home.

The Drayton Hall Festoon Frieze is an absolutely eye-catching and creative piece with it's crescent shape and unfinished look. A closer look gives you the beauty of it's carved flowers and fruit. It really is a dramatic frieze that adds architectural definition to any room.

Behind a sofa, placed on a garden wall or proudly displayed as a headboard in your master bedroom, these large scale Friezes are sure to make a statement. Now that you know what they are, you can add style in your home or garden all your own with a stunning and unique Frieze for all to see!

Discover A Secret Love For Framed Art!

Framed Art can be an important design decision for your home. There are many factors involved when making a final choice. The great thing about Framed Art however, is that if you get tired of it or just need something different for your space, it can be changed altogether or just rearranged for a new look! Framed Art is versatile!

Artwork in general can be one of the most personal items you can purchase for your home or personal space. Framed Art does not just have to be images or photographs, but can also be, illustrative or decorative. Framed Art can be three dimensional metal sculptures, fabric pieces, or wall collections of many different types and kinds of items. The French Post Card Transfers are a great example of Framed Art because although the antique reproductions are different, the frames and the theme is the same. Which brings them together in the way they look, as a whole collection.

Walls should always be considered part of the rooms overall decor, so you should definitely make sure all art and Framed Art is added to your budget. It is better to wait for the right size piece than to place a too small piece on a large wall because you end up with all that empty space. Don't get me wrong, white space is OK, your eyes need someplace to rest in order to appreciate all the art and Framed Art you have, but having something extremely small on a huge wall would be wasted space.

Having other Framed Art in the same theme is a great way to spread it throughout your home or personal space. The Perfumery Post Card Transfer is a great Framed Art addition to another wall, carrying the theme over from the same kind of collection as with the French Post Card Transfers.

You can have many different types of Framed Art pieces in your home or personal space, but making them all come together is what makes the difference. The theme could be just the frame itself! Why not start with the Framed Art and build the room around IT for a change of pace? Decorating with Framed Art is limitless, you just need to know where YOU want to begin!
