Tin Ceiling Tiles
You can transform your room by redecorating your 5th wall.
Tin ceilings are also called pressed metal ceilings and they are making a comeback in a big way.
They are made from stunningly crafted panels of tin that are stamped to have a decorative motif and then placed in an organized arrangement on a ceiling. You can get a very austere and formal look or a comfy, cozy feel depending on the colors and type of decoration on the tin ceiling tiles that you choose.
The tin is lightweight and will last for decades. It only needs the occasional dusting and it will naturally patina (get that aged greenish look) as time goes by. The tin ceiling tiles are very easy to install and there are two main ways to do it. The tin won't stick to dry wall or plaster so you must either affix a thin sheet of plywood to your ceiling or you can measure your tiles and affix thin stripes of wood that will accommodate the edges of your ceiling tiles - these are called furring strips.
Before installing your ceiling tiles, lay out your pattern on the floor and make sure it looks exactly you want. Then you're ready to install your plywood or furring. Attaching furring or plywood requires only a ladder, a nail gun and a little patience. Measure your ceiling tiles and where ever the edges of the tiles will be, you will need a furring strip to nail the tile to. This is a very fast way to put them up without adding weight to your ceilings.
Tin ceiling tiles look fantastic in any room in your home - if you're tired of the same boring old ceilings - check out the possibility of using ceiling tiles instead.
