Touch of an Angel
If you're looking to add a new look to one of your rooms, an angelic touch might be just the change your looking for.
You don't have to add new furniture or a huge number of new items to "angelize" a room. Think light and airy; keep your colors light and your fabrics lightweight and flowing for your window treatments, throws and pillows.
If you already have a sofa that you love, just update it with either an upholstery job in light colored fabrics and then add some pillows covered in a sheer chiffon fabric and if you like, add angel clips or sew angel figurines to the pillow closures. If you have the most basic of sewing skills you can customize your accessories to be uniquely "you".
For your window treatments, use drapery weight fabrics that are both light in color and weight. You can put sheers on the top in an even lighter shade of color that will compliment your decor as a whole.
Other fun angelic additions for your room could be embellished lamp shades or for an even softer mood in lighting, a pair of resin and metal guardian angel candle holders. There are different types of angels you can add to your decorating scheme from chubby cherubs to stately guardians in their flowing robes to the beautiful ethereal winged beauties that grace many artworks and sculptures.
You don't have to all out redecorate your room but rather add a piece or two at a time and you will be able to completely change your room and stay within even the most modest of budgets. Start off with simple candle holders and then add a few more accents. When you're ready for a bigger change, redo your window treatments and sofa covering. Add pillows another weekend.
Soon you can have a room the angels themselves will be delighted to stop by and relax in!
