Creating The Focal Point In Your Room

If you are looking for more of a challenge when decorating, you may want to think of putting together a room using a main focal point. A good number of designers will actually find one incredible piece to start with, whether it is furniture or a piece of art, and they will then form the rest of the room around that one specific piece. As a matter of fact, some of the best rooms have actually come about by using this method during the design stage.

Some of the things that people like to use as a focal point could be a fireplace in your family room or den, and even the headboard of your bed in your bedroom. Perhaps you have a fireplace in your bedroom, in which case you can dress up your fireplace to then become the main focal point in the room instead of the bed itself. The best way to set up accents for a fireplace can either be done with lighting or accessories. If you have a mantle, you can always place collectibles or candles on top of it to dress it up.

If your fireplace does not have a mantle, yet you are looking to get one, a great choice is the Distressed Black Mantle. This piece itself is a perfect way to make your fireplace the focal point of whatever room that it may be in. The stunning, yet classic design may be just what your room needs to make it extraordinary.
