Yes, The Little Things Count

When you're pulling together the entire look of a room, you can use small elements in your design to make the entire look blend and flow as a whole.

Great additions to any room are brackets and corbels. You can do so much more with them than you might think. They can be used as focal points on walls, used for pure function to create shelving that is very individual, used to set off a fireplace mantel, draw attention to a doorway or highlight an artwork on your wall.

Use them over tall doorways to create an illusion of a lower ceiling to make a room with high ceilings seem a little more homey and cozy. You can also use the same method to make a small room seem a little larger by placing corbels around a mirror or two to really set them off and if you have corbels over doorways in the room it will trick the eye of the viewer into thinking the mirror at the far end of the room is also a doorway and the mind's eye will interpret the room as actually larger than it is.

Custom brackets look awesome when used to make a shelf that contains special objects for the room. You can further offset a simply made shelf by placing it over a mantel or decorating with a corbel on each side for further impact in the room. Both corbels and brackets can add a fun and functional touch to any room you use them in.
