Rosettes - An Outstanding Addition to Your Décor Both Inside and Outside
Rosettes add an air of elegance and if used with a feminine décor and soft lighting, they can add very romantic air to a room. Rosettes were traditionally used in the homes of well-to-do folks, usually in a parlor. Rosettes were also a very common decoration used in churches.
All rosettes have a central design in the center and then radiate outward towards either a petal like design (hence the name "rosette"), geometric patterns or shell patterns are used. Most rosettes are roundish in design but some like the Chelsea Rosette which is an intricately detailed small square shaped rosette that is only 4-inches by 4-inches. It looks like heavy solid plaster but in fact is actually lightweight, durable polyurethane that can be painted to match any wall it is placed on.
Rosettes can be used to frame a doorway, a favorite painting, or use them near a ceiling to give a small room height. When used over a doorway, they will bring a high ceiling down and give your room a more cozy feeling.
A small collection of rosettes place strategically on a wall can make a real impact to a room. Also, don't limit your use of rosettes to simply inside of your home; they can be just as useful for spicing up a garden area as well.
The Demtri Rosette is a work of art on its own that will enhance your garden area. It is made from cast resin to give the look of antique metal with a patina-like finish. The Florence Plaques are castings that are made from demolished buildings and they have intricate designs that will bring an air of elegance to your garden area.
