Architectural Grilles
Architectural grilles have a history of versatility. Grilles have traditionally been used as screens within frames to cover steam radiators, hiding their unattractive appearance and preventing burns. Today architectural grilles are being put to use in artistic as well as functional ways.
Architectural grilles may be made from a number of materials. Metal grilles are more frequently used for industrial projects, while wooden grilles tend to be used for more decorative purposes. Whatever material is used, an architectural grille is generally comprised of a solid surface that has had a decorative pattern cut away, leaving openings for air and light to pass through.
Grilles are used today in artistic as well as architectural ways. Architectural grilles can be encased in a wooden framework and connected with cabinet hinges in order to form a customized room screen or divider. These grille screens make very stylish room accents. A similar framing technique can be used to turn grille screening into a one of a kind headboard for a bed.
Metal architectural grilles can be used as insets for cabinet doors, replacing worn out wood and giving the cabinet or hutch a fresh new look.
Our

Our inspiring
Ancient Celtic Grille B begs for a space above your mantel. What a lovely backdrop this would make to a set of candles protected in hurricane glass. Add pine boughs and plaid ribbon to the front of the mantel for a classical holiday look.
